Fremont County – Riverton’s City Council met Tuesday in regular session at the City Hall Council Chambers. A new dispatcher for the Riverton Police Department took her oath of office at the top of the meeting, followed by a community spotlight, proclamations on Constitution Week and Hunger Action Month, a public hearing on a request from Riverton High School for a Fireworks Permit application for home RHS Football Games, the award of bids for an airport pickup, a wide-area mower and a zero-turn mower. Councilors were also asked to approve an application to submit a grant to the Bureau of Justice Assistance to repair 2 dispatch consoles in the Riverton Police Department Dispatch Center. One final action item is to renew a third five-year lease with the state of Wyoming for the Department of Criminal Investigation Building at the Central Wyoming Regional Airport.

The Fremont County Commissioners Tuesday met in regular session at the courthouse in Lander with another session of the Board of Equalization set to hear an appeal of property taxes from the Town of Shoshoni. The commissioners will also hear a contract update, hear about a short-term rental issue, consider closing documents for the country acres road, and a project update on the capital revolving fund’s one percent projects. A number of planning items are also up for consideration for the Nordwick, Mountain Top, Porcupine, and Walkabout Creek Estates Subdivisions.
