History was made, again at the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters awards Banquet, Held in Cody this past week.  In Wyoming broadcast circles, no small market radio station had ever won three consecutive “Station of the Year ” honors until Riverton’s KTAK, 93.9 FM radio did it last year. This year, at the 2022 Wyoming Association of Broadcasters Convention in Cody on Saturday night, KTAK’s team did it again. Four years in a row Wyoming’s Big Country Radio has been named the Station of the Year. But that’s not all, the team from WyoToday Media brought home seven top honors from the convention:

• Best Public Service campaign for Stuff the Bus held every holiday season coordinated by           LeAnn Sanderson

• Best Online Video by Rusty Wuertz,

• Best Website for by Ernie Over (Third year in a row)

• Best Play-by Play sportscasting by Jordan McKamey on KDNO

• Best Commercial by John Birbari

• Best Digital Photograph by Ernie Over

WyoToday Media Radio Program Director Rusty Wuertz praised the team: “I couldn’t be prouder of our team at KTAK and WyoToday Media. We have a group of folks that work so well together. Being recognized for something we are all so passionate about shows that we’re growing in the right ways. Everyone chips in to winning something like station of the year. We couldn’t do it without every member of our team, from production to advertising. A huge thank you also goes out to our friends and listeners in Fremont County, who make this possible. We live in the best county in the state, and we can’t wait to see what this next year of broadcasting has in store.”

WyoToday Media General Manager Kevin Shields was also effusive in his praise of the team: “When I first arrived in Riverton,I was told that this was one of the best teams in the Edwards Media Group. They prove it each and every day, so while we are honored to win this award, I am not shocked.”

WyoToday Media wasn’t the only county broadcaster to receive accolades for their hard work and commitment to the community, County 10, who has owned these stations for less than 1 year, 97.5 KDLY and KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM in Lander along with 105.1 Jack FM (KTUG) in Riverton, walked away with awards in five categories, including 2nd Place for Best Radio Show for KOVE’s “Lander Biz Show” produced with the Lander Chamber of Commerce.
